HEYDENEICH NOTCHES CHILI BOWL VICTORY

Tulsa, Okla. - Johnny Heydenreich of Bloomsburg, PA, overtook race-long leader Sammy Swindell on the 32nd round and went on to top the 40-lap Fourth Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals feature.

Starting on the front row outside, Swindell jumped into the early lead and paced the field for 31 laps before a slightly deflating right rear tire resulted in a push that ultimately denied Swindell his second consecutive Chili Bowl victory.

Heydenreich was in position to take advantage and drove Tony Findlay's Arias-powered Stewart-chassis around Swindell on the 32nd en route to the victory. Heydenreich held off Steve Kinser over the closing laps, with Swindell settling for third. Robby Flock and Rich Vogler rounded out the top five.
