The 2005
Chili Bowl king returned from off-track
injuries that sidelined him from the bulk
of the 2007 season to miss out on reaching
USAC Triple Crown champion status by all of one
point in 2008. A USAC Silver Crown
champion in 2000 and USAC Sprint Car king in
2002, Hines fell one point shy of the '08
USAC Midget crown while also ranking third in
Sprint Car points and sixth in Silver
Crown standings.
Tracy
posted a pair of Sprint Car wins atop
Eldora's dirt, including a victory in the
Don Branson-Jud Larson Memorial, with a
pavement Sprint Car win at Irwindale to
close out the season after an earlier
pavement score in Anderson Midget
competition.
Among the
most consistent Chili Bowl performers in
recent years, Tracy carries a stretch of
five consecutive Chili Bowl top-tens into
the 2009 edition as he vies to become just
the fifth multi-time winner of the Chili
Bowl Nationals.
