The son of four-time Chili Bowl winner Sammy Swindell, Kevin spent the 2007 season battling it out in the USAC Sprint Car and Midget ranks.  The young shoe finished among the top ten in both series, ranking sixth in Midget points and eighth in Sprint Car points.

Kevin notched a pair of Midget wins along the way, including a Night Before the 500 triumph at O'Reilly Raceway Park and then an Indiana Midget Week victory at Lawrenceburg Speedway on August 11.
