Tenth-ranked with the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series in 2009, “The Rocket” continued to display his versatility with a $13,000 winged score in East Bay’s Ronald Laney Memorial and a $15,000 triumph in Oskaloosa’s Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge the most lucrative of a season that included 21 feature wins. With three of the 16 winged wins coming en route to the ASCS Northwest Speedweek title, one of his handful of topless wins came in the final Sprint Car feature atop the storied Manzanita Speedway 1/2-mile clay oval.
