Darren picked off an early 2008 win in the USAC Midget portion of Manzanita Speedway's Copper on the Dirt in February before later adding a pair of pavement Sprint Car triumphs at Winchester and a Lew Morgan Memorial victory on Gas City's dirt in August.  In the wingless ranks, Darren finished out the season sixth in USAC Sprint Car points and seventh in USAC Midget points.
