"The Texan" ranked second in American Sprint Car Series National points in 2008 after collecting four consecutive titles from 2004 to 2007.  Along the way, Gary ran his series best career win total to 124 with a handful of wins including last-lap triumphs in both the Devil's Bowl Spring and Winter Nationals in addition to a pair of Speedweek wins and a Short Track Nationals preliminary feature triumph.

Also among Gary's eight overall wins in '08 was a Lake Ozark Speedway Nationals triumph and a victory in I-30 Speedway's Inaugural Ralph Henson Memorial as he extended his overall career win total to well over 300 in the Sprint Car ranks.

Gary guns for a fifth Chili Bowl championship main event start in January.
