After taking a BCRA Midget win on the Ukiah (CA) Speedway asphalt on June 9, the 16-year-old California racer summered in Indiana.  Taking in the midwest wingless Sprint Car scene, Shane notched a win at Indiana's Lawrenceburg Speedway on August 18 before returning to the left coast where he notched another wingless win at Petaluma Speedway on September 1.
