Son of past Chili Bowl champ Billy Boat, Chad spent the 2008 season competing in the Midwest, capturing his first USAC Sprint Car win at the Hagerstown Speedway stop of the Eastern Swing on June 6.

The Hagerstown score and a third-place run at Eldora were the best of 13 top-tens in Sprint Car action, with four podium finishes the best of 11 top-tens in Midget competition.
