Chili Bowl Rookie

The young son of 1997 Chili Bowl champion and former Indy Car racer Billy Boat, Chad Boat is among this year's Rookie crop at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

Stepping up from the Micro ranks, Chad earned Rookie of the Year honors and a ranking of second in AMRA Midget points, missing the driver's championship by just two markers.  Chad scored a pair of wins, including a June 18 victory at Prescott Valley and an August 6 triumph at Manzanita Speedway.

Finished off the season by getting a taste of non-wing sprint car competition, making three late starts.
