While winning his second USAC Silver Crown championship in 2007, the third-generation hotshoe shifted his balance of racing action to the winged ranks after being regarded as primarily a wingless standout in recent years with 28 of 54 '07 feature starts coming in winged competition.

With four top-five finishes in Golden State Sprint Car action, Bud's first win of the 2007 season came at Ocean Speedway on May 11, with an ASCS Rocky Mountain Region sweep at Dodge City (KS) Raceway Park following on July 21-22.  Bud's biggest win of the year came in wingless Sprint Car action with a last-lap pass to top Perris Auto Speedway's $30,000-to-win Oval Nationals on November 3.

After a year's absence from the Chili Bowl, Bud returns after making consecutive features in 2005 and 2006.
