The 2004 USAC Midget champion ranked fifth in 2009 points, posting a March win on the pavement at Thunder Hill Raceway (Kyle, TX) and a July win on the dirt at Twin Cities Raceway Park (North Vernon, IN) before adding an unsanctioned win on the Kokomo clay.

Bobby, who made his third career Chili Bowl championship main event start last year, also topped USAC Sprint Car features on the asphalt in Anderson Speedway's Glenn Neibel Classic (May 2) and then at Toledo Speedway (July 3).
