Poised to
contend for NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of
the Year honors in 2006 aboard teh Joe
Gibbs Racing Interstate Batteries No. 18
Chevy, Yeley will first make a bid for his
first Golden Driller trophy at this
January's Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
The 2003
USAC Triple Crown champion (only the
second driver to accomplish such a feat),
ranked eleventh in '05 NASCAR Busch Series
points by posting a dozen top-ten finishes
along the way, including a runner-up
finish at Memphis on October 22.
A year
that opened with his second consecutive
Copper World USAC Midget win wrapped up
with four Nextel Cup starts in preparation
for his '06 Rookie assault.
Has
solidly entrenched himself in Chili Bowl
lore by racing through the Saturday
alphabet on a pair of occasions. After an
impressive job of gaining 58 positions by
advancing from an H to a D Feature in the
’03 Chili Bowl, topped himself by
blitzing all the way from an F Feature to
third in the ’04 Chili Bowl finale,
advancing a total of 69 positions.
Yeley
rejoins forces with Andy Bondio (the combo
that clicked for third in '04) for the
20th edition of the Chili Bowl Midget
Nationals.
