The West Coast native spent another season in the Midwest where he finished a strong second in BMARA (Badger Midget Racing Association) points.  In addition to four Badger feature wins, Stratton also topped the King Doodlebug event at Knoxville in July, MARA's Tom Knowles Memorial at Spoon River Speedway in Illinois on September 17 and the USAC Midget portion of Eldora Speedway's Four Crown Nationals on September 24.

Stratton's rookie Chili Bowl outing in 2004 was spectacular, as he charged all the way from a "D" Main to seventh in the "A" Feature.  Stratton tried to duplicate the feat in '05, advancing through "D" and "C" Main action on Saturday then racing through a "B" Main only to fall two positions short of a transfer to a second consecutive Chili Bowl championship main event.
