NASCAR Winston Cup star Ken Schrader returns
to his roots this January as he makes his
first Chili Bowl appearance since 1994.
Schrader,
a USAC Silver Crown champion in 1982 and
USAC Sprint Car champion in 1983, graduated
to the NASCAR ranks in 1985 where he won
Rookie of the Year honors.
Schrader
has gone on to spend 19 years competing at
NASCAR's highest level, starting 596 races
along the way. Schrader has four
wins to his credit and earned the pole
starting position for the Daytona 500 on
three occasions. Schrader has
finished in the top five in in NASCAR
points three times.
An
open-wheel, dirt track racing specialist
prior to his NASCAR days, Schrader returns
to the Chili Bowl aboard one of the Jerry
Russell entries. Schrader has a pair
of top ten Chili Bowl finishes, including
a seventh in 1992 and a ninth-place run in
1990.
