Midget racing veteran Wally Pankratz finished tenth in USAC Western States Midget points in 2003 and scored a BCRA Midget feature victory at Santa Maria on July 26.

Pankratz has narrowly missed the Chili Bowl main event in each of the past two years, finishing seventh in a 2002 B Feature and 10th in one of last year's B Features.
