The open wheel grad took the NASCAR world by storm in 2004, snaring four pole positions and recording thirteen top-five finishes to rank 13th in points, earning NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year honors.

The 2000 USAC National Midget champion who still takes to the dirt tracks from time-to-time, Kahne also picked up a pair of pole starts in NASCAR Busch series competition and won a pair of Craftsman Truck races in his only two truck appearances.

An early casualty in the ‘04 Chili Bowl main event, Kahne’s best Chili Bowl finish was a sixth place run in 2002 after a 22nd place finish in ‘01.
