Colorado shoe Kenny Lewis raced to the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association championship in 2003, outdistancing fellow Conklin-teammate Gary Taylor by 28 markers in the final points rundown.

Lewis notched four victories in 2003, including May victories at Eagle (NE) Raceway and Butler County Speedway in Rising City, NE, a June 21 win at Fort Morgan, CO, and a July 5 triumph at Rocky Mountain National Speedway near Denver.

Lewis had his strongest Chili Bowl outing yet in 2003, missing the main event by just four positions.
