"Super" Rickie Gaunt had another strong year in SCRA's non-winged Sprint Car competition, earning an eighth place finish despite missing several events along the way.

The former Perris Auto Speedway Oval Nationals champion finished in the top ten in 18 of the 28 events he competed in, including nine runs inside the top five.  The high water mark for the year was a pair of third place finishes, the first coming at Manzanita Speedway on May 10 with the next coming at Tulare, CA, on June 14.

Gaunt returns to this year's Chili Bowl with hopes of shaking the bad luck that hindered his 2003 Chili Bowl outing.
