"The Texan" recorded his second consecutive O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour championship in 2005, scoring 14 series wins along the way to extend his ASCS career win total to 104.  Wright scored a new series' record five wins in a row during the middle portion of the season.

Wright finished second in ASCS Speedweek points, missing out on a sixth Speedweek title by just two markers.  

Wright also scored four NCRA feauture wins during the season.  A ten-time NCRA Outlaw Sprint Car champion, Wright added the '05 NCRA Speedweek championship to his credentials as well.

Wright once again joins forces with car owner Rick Wright for the '05 edition of the O'Reilly Chili Bowl nationals as he vies for a third consecutive main event start.
