Running a limited slate of events in 2004, Doty recorded eight top-four finishes in thirteen Midget features, including a Badger win at Angel Park on August 1 and a victory in MARA’s Tom Knowles Memorial at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, IL, on September 18...Had competed in every edition of the Chili Bowl until missing last year’s event...In 13 Chili Bowl main events has eight top-ten finishes, with top-five runs including a 2002 runner-up finish, a third place outing in the first edition of the Chili Bowl in 1987 and fourth-place showings in ‘90, ‘93 and ‘98.
